Dr. Savio L-Y. and Mrs. Pattie Woo
Founded in 1997 by Dr. Savio L-Y. Woo, Asian♦American Institute for Research and Education, or ASIAM Institute, is an independent, tax-exempt IRS code 501(c)(3) public charitable organization. Dr. Woo received the International Olympic Committee's 1998 Olympic Prize for Sports Science endowed by Parke-Davis in recognition of the many significant contributions made by him and his team to the science of sports medicine. Dr. & Mrs. Woo then donated most of the $250,000 prize money to extablish ASIAM. Since then, generous donations by board members as well as numberous friends, students and fellows of Dr. & Mrs. Woo have sustained ASIAM's mission.
